Professor Jonathan Dekel-Chen holds a dual appointment at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in the Department of Jewish History and in the Department of General History. He also serves as the Academic Chairman of the Leonid Nevzlin Research Center for Russian and East European Jewry and is Chairman of the Russian Studies Division at Hebrew University. His current research and publications deal with transnational philanthropy and advocacy, non-state diplomacy, agrarian history and migration. During the 2015-16 academic year, Prof. Dekel-Chen served as an Israel Institute Visiting Professor in the Department of History and the Institute for Israel & Jewish Studies at Columbia University. In 2014 he co-founded the Bikurim Youth Village for the Performing Arts in Eshkol, which provides world-class artistic training for under-served high school students from throughout Israel.
